Setting up Jcom.home.ne.jp for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this post I will simply explain how to configure Jcom.home.ne.jp with IMAP and SMTP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a straightforward language.

Setting up Jcom.home.ne.jp

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Needed for Receiving Email

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not provide both! Refer to the table below for available settings.
    • IMAP protocol keeps the emails on the server, and it will keep a copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended setting for most usersӪԒӾӮӰՀӼՋӫՉԮԲԩӸӖӘԁӻՌԂԤԳԞԷӓՎӴԻӯԟin most casesӪԒӾӮӰՀӼՋӫՉԮԲԩӸӖӘԁӻՌԂԤԳԞԷӓՎӴԻӯԟin almost all casesӪԒӾӮӰՀӼՋӫՉԮԲԩӸӖӘԁӻՌԂԤԳԞԷӓՎӴԻӯԟfor almost all users.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Enter the passphrase for the e-mail account and click Next.
  3. Use the following information to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Outgoing E-mail Server Setup (using SMTP)

  1. Once the settings are filled in, click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Please use the information below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.
