Configuring Knology.net for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this article we will summarize configuring Knology.net with POP and SMTP for your Android Device in a straightforward way.

How to setup Knology.net:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Required for Receiving E-mail

  1. Choose the type of mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services provide both! Please refer to the table below for possible settings.
    • IMAP will keep the e-mails on the server but it will keep a cached copy on your Android phone. IMAP is the recommended protocol for most users.
    • POP3 will download the e-mails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Enter the passphrase for your mail account and tap Next.
  3. Use the following table in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Settings Required for Sending Mail

  1. Once the parameters are typed in, you can click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Please use the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
