Setting up Sfr.fr for an Android Device

In this post we will simply teach you configuring Sfr.fr using IMAP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in an easy to follow fashion!

Configuring Sfr.fr:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Required for Receiving Mail

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not provide both options! Refer to the table below for possible parameters.
    • IMAP will store the emails on the server and it will display a copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended protocol in most cases.
    • POP3 downloads the e-mails from the server and it will keep them on your Android phone.
  2. Type in the password for your email address and click Next.
  3. Please use the following information to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, click Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Server Configuration (using SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Please refer to the following table to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
