Setting up Telefonica for an Android Device

Configuring Telefonica

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Add another account.
4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
   • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
   • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Needed for Receiving Mail

1. Select the type of email account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Some services may not provide both options. Refer to the information below for the correct protocols.
   • IMAP protocol stores the emails on the server but it will keep a cached copy on your Android phone. IMAP is the recommended protocol for almost all users.
   • POP3 will download the mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your device.
2. Enter the passphrase for the mail account and click Next.
3. Refer to the table below to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
4. Tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Incoming E-mail Server (IMAP) Configuration

Configuration Needed for Sending Email (via SMTP)

1. Once the settings are entered, click Next.
2. Turn on Require sign-in
3. Please see the table below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
4. Now click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
