Configuring Yahoo.com.pe for an iPhone
With this blog we will try to explain setting up Yahoo.com.pe with IMAP and SMTP in an easy to follow language...
First, a few words about Yahoo.com.pe
Yahoo! Mail is an email service launched on October 8, 1997, by the American company Yahoo, Inc. It offers four different email plans: three for personal use (Basic, Plus, and Ad Free) and another for businesses. As of January 2020, Yahoo! Mail has 225 million users. Users are able to access and manage their mailboxes using webmail interface, accessible using a standard web browser. Some accounts also supported the use of standard mail protocols (POP3 and SMTP). Since 2015, users can also connect non-Yahoo e-mail accounts to the webmail client. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo!_Mail
How to configure Yahoo.com.pe
It is possible that Mail will find the e-mail parameters itself and configure your account. Apply these steps to try:
- Go to Settings > Mail then tap Accounts
- Click Add Account, click Other, and tap Add Mail Account
- Type your name, email address, password with a description for account
- Tap Next. The Mail app should try to find the mail configuration and set up your account. If the Mail app finds your e-mail settings, click Done to finish your setup.
In case the Mail app can't find your email configuration, it means that you have to enter them yourself. I think you may find the info below useful:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Setup
Server Hostname | imap.mail.yahoo.com |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Outgoing Mail Server Settings
Server Hostname | smtp.mail.yahoo.com |
Server Port | 465 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Select IMAP or POP for your new account. If you don't know which one to select, contact Yahoo.com.pe.
- Enter the details (You might take a look at the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next
- If your email settings are correct, click Save to complete . If the mail setup is incorrect, you'll be asked to modify those settings.
- If you still can't set up your e-mail account, or save the settings, contact your provider.
