Setting up Yahoo.lv for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

History of Yahoo.lv:

Yahoo! Mail is an email service launched on October 8, 1997, by the American company Yahoo, Inc. It offers four different email plans: three for personal use (Basic, Plus, and Ad Free) and another for businesses. As of January 2020, Yahoo! Mail has 225 million users. Users are able to access and manage their mailboxes using webmail interface, accessible using a standard web browser. Some accounts also supported the use of standard mail protocols (POP3 and SMTP). How to set up Yahoo.lv:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Server Settings

  1. Select the type of mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services support both! Refer to the table below for available settings.
    • IMAP will store the mails on the server, but it will show a copy on your device. IMAP is recommended for most users.
    • POP3 will download the emails from the server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Type the password for your email account and click Next.
  3. Please use the table below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Configuration Required for Sending Mail (via SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are typed in, you can tap Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Please see the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
