Configuring fastest.cc for an iPhone

With this post I will try to demonstrate how to setup fastest.cc using IMAP and SMTP in a simple language.

What is fastest.cc:

Fastmail is an email hosting company based in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to its Fastmail-branded services, the company also operates Topicbox, a mailing list service, and Pobox, an email service it acquired in 2015. The company was acquired by Opera Software in 2010 but became independent again in 2013 through a staff buyout. Its servers are located in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington. Setting up fastest.cc:

Mail app can find the settings automatically and configure your account. Follow these steps first in order to try:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail then tap Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account, click Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your name (can be any name), your email address, your password with a description for your account
  4. Tap Next. The Mail app will try and find the email parameters and complete setting your account. If the Mail app finds your e-mail settings, tap Done to complete your account setup.

In case the Mail app hasn't been able to automatically set up your account, then you will need to enter them manually. You will need the following information:

Setup Needed for Receiving Mail via IMAP

UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Settings Needed for Sending E-mail

Server Hostnamesmtp.fastmail.com
Server Port587
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Tap Next, then follow these steps:

  1. Select IMAP or POP for your new account. If you aren't sure which one to select, contact fastest.cc.
  2. Enter the required details (You will want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then tap Next.
  3. If the email settings are correct, click Save to finish . If your email configuration is incorrect, you'll be asked to edit those settings.
  4. If you still can't configure the e-mail account, or store your settings, contact the email provider.
