How to set up Live.se for an Android Tablet

In this post I will simply teach you how to set up Live.se using IMAP and SMTP for your Android Tablet in a straightforward fashion.

Configuring Live.se

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Needed for Receiving Mail

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not support both options! Refer to the table below for the correct settings.
    • IMAP protocol will keep the e-mails on the server, but it will keep a cached copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended for almost all users.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android phone.
  2. Enter the passphrase for the e-mail account and tap Next.
  3. Please use the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Configuration Needed for Sending Email

  1. After you type the settings, tap Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Refer to the information below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.
