Setting up Virginbroadband.com.au for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

Setting up Virginbroadband.com.au:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Required for Receiving Email

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Some services may not provide both options! You may want to see the table below for available parameters.
    • IMAP protocol stores the e-mails on the server but it will display a copy on your Android phone. IMAP is the recommended protocol for most users.
    • POP3 will download the emails from the remote server and it will keep them on your device.
  2. Type in the passphrase for the mail account and tap Next.
  3. Please see the following information in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Configuration Required for Sending E-mail (using SMTP)

  1. After you type the settings, click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Use the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
